Community work to avoid prison

Dozens of citizens who commit violations of traffic involving loss of liberty, serve a number of community activities, to avoid complications involved remain in prison.

According to the records of the Municipal Mobility Traffic and Transportation, OCSMs from January to July this year, 800 offenders chose community service, of which 500 have already met with the working hours assigned by judges transit and 300 are in full swing.

People who are favored with this resource choose to perform tasks signaling and traffic lights, collaborate with activities in the vial park in security operations in educational establishments, maintenance of public buildings, work in municipal nurseries, among others go to the benefit of citizens.

The Criminal Code of Integral Integral, COIP establishes prison for people who drive vehicles with tires in poor condition, for those who drive drunk or under the influence of psychotropic substances; driving without obtaining a license, speeding out of the moderate range and for drivers who miss work to the transit authority or agent.

In the OCSMs they reported that hours of community work as judges established according to regulations, depending on the circumstances and severity of the violation. The schedule is chosen by the offender, according to your time availability.

The COIP also establishes other offenses that may be amended without going to jail, like animal abuse, destruction of road signs, public scandals unarmed, domestic violence does not cause major injuries to three days or income flares sporting venues.

According to regulations, the judge must follow four rules to implement community service: First tasks are performed for the benefit of neighbors or as a mechanism of compensation to the victim. The time for paying the penalty can not interfere with the work schedule, I can meet after working hours, weekends and holidays.

The rule states that Community tasks must not exceed three hours a day nor be less than 15 hours a week. Finally, the service must be commensurate with the abilities of each person. (ASQ) (I)
